Obituary for Gordon "Gordy" Falk

Gordon Sands Falk (Gordy) oldest son of Sands Gordon and Charlotte Falk, was born May 30, 1943 in Milwaukee. He graduated from Marquette University High School and Regis College. After college, he served in Okinawa as a naval intelligence officer.

Perhaps he is best known as THE PUMPKIN MAN. Each October, Gordy carved approximately 800 pumpkins. What began as a favor to carve pumpkins for friends in Whitefish Bay at Halloween parties, grew into huge displays at various public venues.
A man with a big heart, he was always ready to make your day with a playful antic sure to cheer you up. All children loved him: he was indeed a Pied Piper!

His favorite place on earth was the Falk Family Compound in Land O’Lakes, WI. He poured his heart and soul into that place, building whatever needed to be built: a new dock, a new deck and the unforgettable “Gord Board” pontoon boat. He was a gifted craftsman.

He is survived by his 4 children: Katherine MacIntosh, Sands Falk (Rachel), Mercedes Falk, Michael Falk (Melissa), 4 grandchildren and his former wife, Katie Falk. He is also survived by 6 siblings, Kathleen Falk Fisher, Mary Falk Mehan (Tracy), Barbara Falk, Robert Falk (Kandice), Michael Falk (Anne), Elizabeth Falk Sather (Robert), 28 nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins!

Funeral Mass will be at St. Monica Parish, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217 on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 4:15 pm. Reception following in the Church Hall.

Memorials to Phelps Care are appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the amazing and caring staff at Phelps Care, 4288 Maple Circle, Phelps, WI. 54554, for their loving care of Gordy these past 3 1/2 years.
